Join Jake is a community fundraising effort organized by Jake’s family and friends. Funds raised will be used to cover the costs, both medical and otherwise, brought on by this debilitating disease.
In December of 2020, Jake Thompson was diagnosed with ALS.
This cruel disease gradually takes away all muscle control, meaning an unimaginably hard road ahead for the ambitious and promising 30-year-old and his loved ones.
Jake is a hilarious, thoughtful, and creative person. He has been a rock to his family and a dear friend to many. Now it's time to return the favour.
ALS is incredibly expensive to live with and combat, and the disease will decrease Jake and his fiancé Jackie's ability to work. Additionally, being diagnosed so young, not to mention being self-employed, Jake does not have the safety net of life insurance or long-term disability.
We can't stop this disease from taking its course, but we can help alleviate the financial burden of living with it.
